Fivesight is currently a one person shop headed by founder and chief analyst, Joe Buzzanga. Joe started the firm to address the market need for accessible, objective, and systematic analytical coverage of Google and Alphabet.
Joe is a full stack technology and market analyst with extensive product management experience spanning the telecom, semiconductor, search and publishing industries. He began his career as a researcher in Bellcore (now Ericsson), the R&D spin out formed at the divestiture of AT&T. From Bellcore he moved to Megahertz, a pioneering mobile (PCMCIA) modem manufacturer, where he ran a market analysis group. Megahertz was acquired by US Robotics, which was acquired in turn by 3Com. Joe transitioned to a product management role through this acquisition and helped launch one of the early “broadband” (ISDN) SOHO routers.
Joe joined Intel in 1999 where he worked on network processor blades targeted at telecom equipment manufacturers. From 2008 to 2017 he worked in scientific and technical publishing, first at Elsevier and then at IEEE (2010-2017). At Elsevier he helped define and launch an early NLP-based search engine (illumin8). At IEEE he spearheaded a partnership to offer a novel, neural network based search engine covering 100 million patents and 4 million IEEE documents.
